The Palestinian official news agency (WAFA) reported a phone call between His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

WAFA conveyed that Abbas briefed His Majesty the King on the latest Palestinian developments, ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, and the urgent need to halt the genocide faced by Palestinians immediately.

Abbas emphasized the importance of expediting the entry of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid, preventing displacement, and halting the dangerous Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

He reiterated the importance of achieving full Palestinian statehood membership in the United Nations.

The agency confirmed that His Majesty the King reiterated Jordan’s continued support for the Palestinian people until they attained their legitimate rights and established their independent state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with its capital in Jerusalem.

His Majesty the King and the Palestinian President exchanged greetings for the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and affirmed their commitment to continuing coordination and consultation at all levels.
