Spanish newspaper Sport has reported that FC Barcelona has identified its first signing for the upcoming summer transfer window.
The “Blaugrana” are set to reclaim their player, Chadi Riad, who was loaned to Real Betis last summer for €500,000, with a mandatory buy option included.
The report states, “Betis’s mandatory purchase clause is valued at €3 million, while Barcelona holds the right to buy him back for €7 million. Barça intends to exercise this option following his impressive performance this season.”
The Catalan club, having an abundance of defenders, might consider reselling Chadi Riad’s contract to turn a profit as soon as possible. Club officials believe they can sell him for €15 million.
“In light of Barcelona’s financial crisis, the deal for the young Moroccan defender would represent a coup for sporting director Deco if he manages to complete it at the planned value, especially since the Spanish club will also retain a percentage of any future sale of the Moroccan international,” the newspaper added.
This strategic move underlines Barcelona’s intent to bolster its squad while navigating financial constraints, with the repurchase and potential resale of Riad serving as a testament to the club’s innovative approach to player management and revenue generation.
Joan Laporta has revealed that Barcelona had turned down a €200 million offer for Lamine Yamal, according to MARCA.
PSG, represented by Jorge Mendes, had proposed the Blaugrana forward. Barcelona rejected the bid from the French club, citing their belief in the player’s potential as the future of the team.
Laporta elaborated on the decision, stating, “We have received offers for players like Lamine Yamal, for €200 million, and we have declined. Because we trust the young man, he is the future of the team.”
“We have faith in the player and his athletic potential, and we are not in need, quite the opposite. We are in a process of economic recovery, and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel,” Laporta emphasized, highlighting the positive moment the club is experiencing.
