Civil Protection forces in Giza continued their efforts on Saturday to contain a fire at the Al-Ahram Studio, which erupted around 5 hours ago. According to Civil Protection personnel, the fire spread rapidly due to the presence of highly flammable materials and wood.

It was revealed that the fire had spread to six adjacent buildings, prompting security forces to evacuate these buildings as a precaution to safeguard residents’ lives. The flames devoured palm trees, burning them completely.

Medical sources at the scene, where ambulances are present in large numbers, reported that there have been no fatalities so far. However, several individuals suffered from smoke inhalation, receiving first aid at the scene. Their health conditions have since improved.

Many residents of the affected buildings took to the streets adjacent to the fire site, looking on as their homes were consumed by the flames in despair.

During the firefighting efforts, a crane belonging to the Civil Protection forces collapsed. Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Director of Giza Security, who was at the scene, had ordered the use of hydraulic ladders to extinguish the fire.

An inspection of the fire site revealed the presence of wood and highly flammable materials, mostly made of plastic, which contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.

Security forces disconnected electricity and gas supplies to the area surrounding the studio to facilitate firefighting efforts.

The incident began with a report to the Giza emergency call center about a fire at the Al-Ahram Studio in Giza. Civil Protection vehicles were immediately dispatched to control the blaze.
