The Somali Disaster Management Agency received the second batch of aid from the United Arab Emirates government on Friday. Held at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu, this event marks a significant step in supporting the Somali people during challenging times.

The aid includes various essential food items, carefully selected to meet immediate needs. From staple grains to food supplies, the UAE’s contribution aims to alleviate hunger and enhance food security for vulnerable groups.

The aid was transported on a UAE government cargo plane, symbolizing the strong bilateral relations between the two countries. Efficient logistics ensured the timely arrival of vital supplies, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian assistance.

Abdulrahman Waheed, Deputy Head of the Disaster Management Agency, personally received the donation from officials of the UAE Embassy in Mogadishu. He expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Somali people, recognizing the UAE as a steadfast ally in times of need.

“Government of the UAE has consistently extended its helping hand to Somalia. Their fraternal support has made a tangible difference in the lives of our citizens,” said Mr. Waheed.

As aid deliveries continue in the coming days, the Somali Disaster Management Agency remains committed to effective distribution and fair access. The unwavering commitment of the UAE stands as a beacon of hope for a brighter future in Somalia.
