Saudi Arabia Executes 2 Yemeni Nationals over Terrorism Charges

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior announced it had executed two Yemeni nationals in Riyadh, citing their involvement in the formation of a terrorist group within the Kingdom.

The ministry’s statement named the executed individuals as Abdul Rahman Fares Amer Al-Mari and Mohammed Salah Omar Al-Mari, stating they had pledged allegiance to and actively supported a terrorist organization, as reported by Al Arabiya TV news”

The statement elaborated that Abdul Rahman Al-Mari founded a terrorist organization with the intent of carrying out operations within Saudi Arabia.

He was implicated in the assassination of security personnel and in providing support to members of his organization. Al-Mari was also prepared to recruit individuals for executing terrorist attacks within the Kingdom and was found in possession of various explosives, automatic weapons, ammunition, and explosive belts. He was additionally accused of harboring individuals wanted on security charges.

These actions underscore Saudi Arabia’s unwavering efforts in its battle against terrorism, ensuring the Kingdom’s safety and stability. The accused was reportedly planning to depart from conflict-affected regions to join the terrorist organization and was involved in financing terrorism.

The Ministry’s statement further disclosed that the other accused, Mohammed Al-Mari, was involved with a terrorist group intending to execute terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia.

He allegedly attempted to plant a bomb to target military vehicles, collected information about security and military sites for potential use in terrorist activities, and concealed knowledge of a terrorist operation.

Following their trial in a specialized court, capital punishment was handed down and executed on Saturday in Riyadh. This action is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing initiatives to combat terrorism and ensure the nation’s security and stability.
