In a crucial diplomatic exchange, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi received a phone call on Friday from Jordanian King Abdullah II, during which both leaders engaged in discussions on the ongoing developments in Gaza. The focus of the call was on efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and address the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the region.

The leaders underscored their joint rejection of the escalation of military operations in Gaza, emphasizing the potential repercussions on the security and stability of the broader region. Their conversation emphasized the urgency of finding a peaceful resolution to the current situation.

During the call, President Sisi and King Abdullah II highlighted the significance of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, considering it as the fundamental basis for efforts to restore peace in the region. Both leaders advocated for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The diplomatic exchange between Egypt and Jordan reflects a shared commitment to addressing the critical situation in Gaza and working towards a sustainable ceasefire. The emphasis on humanitarian aid, rejection of military escalation, and the call for a comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue signal a unified diplomatic front in the pursuit of peace and stability in the region.
