In a press conference held in Arish on Saturday, Mohamed Abdel-Fadil Shousha, the governor of North Sinai, revealed that the Egyptian government is actively establishing a logistics hub in Rafah, Egypt, aimed at efficiently receiving aid from Egypt, foreign nations, and regional and international organizations destined for Gaza.

The governor outlined the comprehensive features of the hub, emphasizing its role in securely storing and preparing aid for delivery while safeguarding it from adverse weather conditions.

The facilities include designated areas for trucks, secure warehouses, administrative offices, and accommodations for drivers.

During the announcement, Shousha highlighted that the hub has been meticulously equipped with essential amenities and electricity to ensure seamless transportation to and from the location.

He emphasized that these new facilities will not only alleviate the burden on drivers but also contribute to reducing congestion in Arish and on surrounding roads. Additionally, the governor emphasized the positive impact on the work of the Egyptian Red Crescent in efficiently delivering aid.

The governor justified the need for the logistics hub by pointing out the substantial influx of aid arriving in Arish through various air, land, and sea routes. This necessitates the establishment of a dedicated facility to receive, organize, and prepare aid for subsequent delivery through the Rafah Border Crossing.

Contrary to media reports, Shousha clarified on Thursday that Egypt is not constructing camps to accommodate Palestinians in case of displacement from Gaza.

These statements were reinforced by Diaa Rashwan, the head of Egypt’s State Information Service, on the following day, asserting that Egypt views any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza as a war crime a
