During a consultative ministerial meeting in Riyadh convened by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Thursday, key Arab diplomats, including Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, UAE’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee, united to discuss the ongoing Israeli conflict in Gaza.

The ministers stressed the urgent need to halt the war on Gaza, achieving an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, ensuring civilian protection in accordance with international humanitarian law, and lifting all barriers to the entry of humanitarian aid into the region. They expressed support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and urged all supporters to play their part in the agency’s humanitarian efforts towards Palestinian refugees.

The officials also emphasized the importance of irreversible steps towards implementing the two-state solution, recognizing the State of Palestine within the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant international resolutions.

They affirmed that Gaza is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and categorically rejected all forms of forced displacement.
