In a significant meeting convened by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Riyadh, top Arab diplomats, including Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, UAE’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and the Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee Hussein Al-Sheikh, united in their call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

The consultative ministerial meeting focused on the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza, with ministers stressing the urgent need to halt the conflict and ensure a comprehensive ceasefire.

They emphasized the importance of protecting civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law and lifting all barriers hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged territory.

The ministers also expressed their support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), urging all backers to fulfill their humanitarian obligations towards Palestinian refugees.

Highlighting a steadfast commitment to a two-state solution, the diplomats reaffirmed the recognition of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant international resolutions.

They unequivocally rejected all forms of forced displacement, underscoring that the Gaza Strip remains an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories.

This collective stance from the Arab world underscores the region’s dedication to resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and restoring peace and stability to the Middle East.
