On Thursday, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched a floating hospital, destined for the waters off El-Arish, Egypt, with the mission to provide critical medical services to the people of Gaza.

This initiative is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, reflecting the nation’s deep commitment to supporting the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. The operation, named “Gallant Knight 3,” symbolizes the UAE’s dedication to extending a helping hand to those in need.

Originating from Khalifa Port, this floating medical facility is a collaborative effort between the Abu Dhabi Health Department and Abu Dhabi Ports Group. The hospital is staffed by an elite team of 100 medical and administrative personnel, specializing in a wide range of medical fields including anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedics, and emergency care, alongside a team of skilled nurses and support staff.

The hospital boasts a 100-bed capacity and is equipped with cutting-edge medical facilities, including operating theaters, intensive care units, radiology departments, laboratories, and pharmacies. It is further supported by an evacuation aircraft, a medical evacuation boat, and fully equipped ambulances, ensuring a comprehensive healthcare response capability.

This floating hospital is a testament to the UAE’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid and its role as a beacon of hope in the international community. It not only brings essential medical services to the people of Gaza but also stands as a symbol of solidarity and support from the UAE, emphasizing the importance of compassion and international cooperation in times of crisis.

This initiative goes beyond the mere provision of medical services; it embodies the UAE’s commitment to human dignity, peace, and stability worldwide. By offering support during times of need, the UAE reinforces its position as a nation built on the pillars of empathy, cooperation, and kindness, further strengthening its role in fostering a more compassionate and connected world.
