The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Moscow has delivered the second batch of humanitarian food assistance to Somalia.

In a statement published on its official website and reported by the Russian news agency “TASS” on Wednesday, the ministry stated that “the second batch of Russian humanitarian food aid was delivered to the maritime port of Mogadishu on January 24th,” and highlighted the participation of Somali government officials in the official ceremony.

According to the Russian statement, “deepest gratitude was expressed to the Russian Federation for its assistance in ensuring food security in Somalia, which is particularly crucial given the humanitarian situation in this East African country, which is a friend to us.”

The delivery of this humanitarian aid underscores Russia’s commitment to providing support to nations facing food security challenges, further strengthening international ties and cooperation.

This assistance comes at a critical time when Somalia is grappling with humanitarian crises and food shortages, emphasizing the importance of global solidarity in addressing such challenges.
