The Tunisian President Kais Saied, received at the Carthage Palace on Monday, Nancy Faeser, the German Interior Minister, and Gérald Darmanin, the French Interior Minister.

The meeting touched upon the established and strategic cooperative relations between Tunisia and the European Union across various fields, highlighting mutual eagerness to strengthen and further develop them toward broader horizons in accordance with new visions and perspectives.

During this meeting, President Saied firmly stated that Tunisia will never accept the role of guarding the borders of any other country, nor will it agree to the settlement of immigrants on its soil.

The Tunisian President reiterated his stance on the necessity of adopting a new approach concerning the phenomenon of irregular migration.

This approach should focus on eradicating the causes rather than merely attempting to handle the consequences. He called for concerted efforts to put an end to this abnormal and inhumane phenomenon.
