U.S. presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has called for an end to the provision of aid to Ukraine, coupled with a reinforcement of security along the Mexican border.
This statement, released by Kennedy Jr.’s campaign press service, highlights a clear contrast with the positions of both President Biden and the Republicans.
Kennedy Jr.’s campaign emphasized his unique stance, advocating for stronger border control measures to halt the unregulated flow of illegal immigration.
He also supports the cessation of funding for the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This approach marks a distinct departure from the mainstream political narrative in the United States.
Previously, the White House requested an additional $60 billion from Congress for Ukraine, a move that has been met with resistance from Republicans, who are unwilling to approve the funds without steps taken toward securing the Mexican border.
Kennedy Jr. has been vocal about the transparency of the parties involved in the Ukraine conflict, referencing Ukrainian President Zelensky’s visit to Washington.
He has also drawn attention to a video reposted on his social media account, originally from Zelensky’s account, showing the Ukrainian president surrounded by representatives of the U.S. defense industry.
According to Kennedy Jr., Zelensky’s U.S. visit involved literal meetings with Pentagon defense contractors.
The presidential candidate criticized this situation openly, stating, “The deception is happening right before our eyes, and no one is trying to hide the real stakeholders in the Ukraine war.”
This bold statement and call for policy changes represent a significant shift in the discourse surrounding U.S. foreign policy and border security, setting Kennedy Jr. apart in the political arena.
