The Turkish Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, announced today that 10 individuals have been arrested in Istanbul, all of whom were subjects of international “red notices” issued by Interpol from six different countries.

The Minister revealed that the six countries involved in these arrests are Iran, South Korea, Syria, China, Uzbekistan, and Switzerland.

He explained that the 10 suspects were apprehended through “Operation Cage-30,” conducted by the Istanbul Security Directorate.

The Turkish Minister of Interior further pointed out that the individuals arrested were wanted on various charges, including money laundering, fraud, and human trafficking.

In recent months, Turkish law enforcement has intensified its efforts to apprehend members of organized international crime syndicates, some of whom have sought refuge in Turkey for an extended period.

In a related context, Turkish authorities announced the arrest of 33 individuals as part of a security operation conducted by the intelligence agency earlier this January.

The operation targeted 46 individuals suspected of being involved in espionage activities on behalf of the Israeli Mossad against foreign nationals residing in Turkey.
