In a remarkable rescue operation, the Civil Protection Department of Blida Province, Algeria, saved three children from certain death due to carbon monoxide poisoning on Wednesday evening.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of Civil Protection, the victims, aged between 1 and 11 years, suffered from asphyxiation caused by a carbon monoxide leak. The dangerous gas emanated from a water heater in the Dardara neighborhood of the Blida municipality and district.

The emergency responders promptly provided first aid at the scene. Following this, the children were swiftly transported to Ben Boulaid Hospital to receive necessary medical treatment.

This incident highlights the dangers of carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas that can lead to fatal accidents in households. The authorities urge the public to ensure proper ventilation and regular maintenance of heating appliances to prevent similar occurrences.

The quick response of the Civil Protection agents and the successful medical intervention have been praised, as they turned a potential tragedy into a tale of survival and prompt action.
