In a significant development reported by Reuters and the White House, humanitarian aid can now be delivered to the Gaza Strip from Jordan.

John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesperson, emphasized the seriousness of ongoing negotiations for a potential new ceasefire.

Kirby stated, “These are very serious discussions and negotiations, and we hope they will bear fruit. This is something we have been working on since the end of the previous ceasefire.”

Kirby also noted the presence of the Joint Forces Alliance to protect the Red Sea, with coalition ships already in place.

Sources from the Hashemite Charity Organization revealed the readiness of 1000 metric tons of medical and relief materials, including health packages specialized for children and women, to be sent to Gaza soon.

These parcels are awaiting the facilitation of their overland entry into the Gaza Strip.

According to the World Food Programme (WFP), a humanitarian aid convoy from Jordan entered Gaza on Wednesday.

This convoy marks the first direct delivery from the Kingdom to the sector since October 7th.

The WFP stated in a release, “A convoy consisting of 46 trucks, organized by the World Food Programme and the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, transported over 750 metric tons of essential food supplies to Gaza on Wednesday.”

It was confirmed that this is the “first time a direct aid convoy from Jordan has reached the sector since the escalation of hostilities began on October 7th.” This achievement was made possible after “weeks of coordination with all parties involved.”

This landmark convoy marks a pivotal moment in the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to Gaza, underscoring the collaborative efforts of international and regional organizations in addressing the urgent needs of the affected population.
