Netflix has successfully restored service for the majority of its users, resolving the “technical issues” that caused a widespread outage for thousands of subscribers in the United States and across the globe.

The streaming giant, known for its vast library of movies and TV shows, experienced disruptions earlier in the evening, affecting numerous users across the country.

According to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, Netflix was down for thousands of users during the outage. At its peak, Downdetector reported nearly 17,000 outage reports around 18:41 ET. However, as of 20:00 ET, the number of reports had significantly decreased to about 984.

In response to the outage, Netflix issued an emailed statement acknowledging the situation, citing “unexpected technical issues” that impacted some members.

The streaming service provider acted promptly to address the problem and restore normal service, ensuring that the inconvenience for users was minimized.
