In a historic move, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have approved the implementation of the Unified Tourist Visa, marking a significant step toward facilitating unrestricted movement for tourists and visitors across member nations.
Saudi Minister Al-Khateeb, expressing the commitment to fostering collaboration and strengthening ties across various sectors, shared his remarks after the GCC’s Supreme Council granted approval for the Unified Tourist Visa. Highlighting the importance of this initiative, Al-Khateeb emphasized its role in elevating the global standing of Gulf countries as premier tourist destinations, aligning with the ongoing development and progress witnessed in GCC states across diverse domains.
“The approval of this visa will significantly enhance connectivity and integration among our nations,” stated Al-Khateeb, underscoring the broader implications of the visa scheme. He pointed out that beyond facilitating tourism, the unified visa will create new avenues for investment within each member state’s burgeoning tourism sector.
This decision follows the adoption of the Gulf Tourism Strategy during a pivotal meeting in Al-Ula last November, reflecting the GCC’s strategic approach to enhance regional tourism and collaboration. The Unified Tourist Visa is expected to contribute to increased tourism, economic growth, and strengthened ties among GCC member nations.
