Four citizens were killed and eight others injured in an air strike by the army in the Al-Kokoty area of West Bara in North Kordofan on Saturday.
Eyewitnesses speaking to Radio Dabanga on Sunday revealed the names of the deceased as Sakr Adam Hameed Ibrahim, Hisab Abdulrahman Shneidera, Abdulazim Suleiman Abu Kaja, and Abdulghafour Suleiman Abu Kaj. The exact details and targets of the air strike in the area remain unclear.
Meanwhile, in Khartoum State, another harrowing incident occurred in the Al-Fateihab area of Omdurman on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Al-Fateihab Resistance Committees in Omdurman, artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) resulted in the deaths of four family members, identified as Abdullah Al-Awad, Buthaina Abdul Samad Fadlallah Al-Ja’ali, and her sisters Setna and Mahasen Abdul Samad.
The statement also highlighted the significant number of injuries and destruction of several civilian homes due to the shelling.
On Monday, a statement issued by the Emergency Lawyers called for both parties involved in the conflict to strictly adhere to the principles of distinction and proportionality in targeting military objectives and to avoid civilian areas.
The statement condemned the recorded and documented crimes and violations, warning the conflicting parties that such crimes do not become obsolete over time and the perpetrators will not escape future punishment and accountability.
Furthermore, the North Kordofan Humanitarian Aid Commission announced that the number of shelters for war-affected individuals has exceeded 100 centers in the state, with 80 in the city of Al-Obied alone.
Tariq Amin Abu Al-Bashr, the Commissioner, stated that the World Food Programme (WFP) has provided 250 tons of food aid to refugees from South Sudan and 98 tons to war-affected individuals through the Islamic Relief Organization. He described the health situation of those in the North Kordofan shelters as stable.
