Ukrainian Forces Down 18 Russian Drones

The Ukrainian army has reported the successful interception and downing of 18 out of 25 Russian attack drones launched during the night over eastern and southern regions.

In a statement released today, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that one of the cruise missiles launched by Moscow was also destroyed without specifying its exact location.

Official reports regarding the extent of damage resulting from this attack have not been released, but officials in Kyiv have emphasized that the launch originated from southwestern Russia and primarily targeted eastern and southern Ukraine.

Field battles between Russian and Ukrainian forces have been ongoing since Moscow’s announcement of a military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Intense fighting continues near the areas of Kharkiv and Avdiivka to the east and along the left bank of the Dnipro River to the south.

From a military perspective, the British Ministry of Defense assesses that there are few prospects for significant changes in the frontlines, noting that Russia and Ukraine have not made substantial progress on the battlefield.

On the political front, there are no indications of an imminent resolution to this crisis, as neither side has shown readiness to engage in substantive negotiations.
