The 17th Edition of the UEFA European Championship

UEFA Euro 2024, the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship, promises to be a remarkable event in the world of football.

Scheduled from June 14 to July 14, 2024, the championship will see top European teams vying for the prestigious title.

Germany, as the host nation, will automatically qualify for the tournament, marking the third time that European Championship matches will be played on German territory, and the second in reunified Germany.

This edition is significant as it will be the first to be held in what was formerly East Germany, with Leipzig as one of the host cities.

The qualification process for Euro 2024 involves 24 teams, including host Germany.

The remaining 23 spots are determined through a qualifying tournament, with 20 spots decided by the direct qualification of the winners and runners-up of the 10 qualifying groups.

The final three spots are decided by play-offs, reserved for teams that perform the best in the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League but have not already qualified.

The qualifying group stage was scheduled from March to November 2023, with the play-offs set for March 2024.

The tournament will be held across ten host cities in Germany, with the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region in North Rhine-Westphalia featuring the highest number of venues.

This region includes Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Gelsenkirchen, and Cologne, showcasing Germany’s commitment to covering all main regions for the event.

The final tournament draw is set for December 2, 2023, at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

Teams will be seeded based on the overall European Qualifiers rankings.

The seeding will be divided into four pots, with Germany being automatically seeded into pot 1 and placed in position A1.

The identity of the play-off winners, placed in pot 4, will be unknown at the time of the draw.

Slovakia’s qualification for Euro 2024 highlights the competitive spirit and high standards of European football.

Their journey, marked by significant victories and strategic gameplay, exemplifies the intense competition and skill present in the UEFA European Championship.

As teams prepare for this grand event, fans worldwide anticipate a tournament filled with thrilling matches, showcasing the best of European football.
