Only 5,000 worshippers were able to perform Friday prayers at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque due to strict military measures imposed by Israeli occupation forces in its vicinity.

The Islamic Waqf Department, in a press statement, reported that Israeli forces prohibited worshippers under the age of 70 from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque, resulting in a significant decrease in the number of those who managed to reach the mosque. Israeli forces also attacked several individuals at the Council Gate, one of the entrances to the mosque.

For the third consecutive Friday, Palestinian citizens were unable to access Al-Aqsa Mosque for prayer, with the number of worshippers not exceeding 5,000, down from the usual 50,000.

It is worth noting that a group of citizens performed Friday prayers outside the Old City in occupied Jerusalem. They were met with suppression by the occupation forces, who fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas at them and pursued them in the streets of the Wadi al-Joz area.
