The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has strongly condemned the dire conditions faced by Palestinians in Gaza and emphasized that the brutal and unprecedented shelling of civilians in Gaza cannot be ignored.

Sheikh Tamim made these remarks during the opening session of the third regular term of the first legislative chapter, which corresponds to the fifty-second annual session of the Shura Council.

He stated, “We are advocates for peace and adhere to international legal decisions against any harm to civilians. However, we cannot accept a double standard that disregards the lives of Palestinian children.”

“We say ‘enough,’ Israel cannot be given unconditional approval, and in our time, cutting off access to water, medicine, and electricity is unacceptable,” he added.

The Amir went on to highlight the gravity of the situation, noting that it not only violates international law but also challenges various values, norms, religious laws, and worldly principles. He stressed the need to address Israel’s open and unlawful intentions, such as forced displacement and other actions.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has drawn international concern, and Qatar’s leader’s call for an end to violence and suffering aligns with the growing global consensus for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
