According to Turkish television channel “N.TV,” which was cited by Reuters, Ambassador Erit Lilian has departed from Turkey. However, the Israeli Embassy in Turkey refrained from commenting on these reports.
Earlier this week, Israel’s National Security Council issued a warning against traveling to Turkey, citing fears of potential targeting by individuals angered by the ongoing conflict in Gaza, particularly against Israeli nationals.
The Council urged Israeli citizens in Turkey to leave the country as soon as possible. Subsequently, Israeli airlines arranged flights from Istanbul late Wednesday to facilitate the departure of Israeli citizens wishing to leave Turkey.
In response to the Gaza conflict, Turkish protesters have organized numerous anti-Israel demonstrations. Turkey also declared a three-day period of mourning following the explosion that claimed the lives of a significant number of Palestinians at a hospital in Gaza.
