On Monday, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, held discussions with his British counterpart, Ben Wallace, regarding strategic relations, military cooperation, and the military escalation in Gaza.
During a phone call with Minister Wallace, Prince Khalid bin Salman emphasized the necessity of de-escalating the situation and halting military operations in Gaza. This appeal is rooted in the desire to safeguard the lives of innocent civilians, uphold international humanitarian law, and adhere to its principles.
The discussions between the Saudi and British Defense Ministers come in the context of the ongoing military escalation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Both nations share an interest in regional stability and security and are concerned about the situation in Gaza, where civilian lives have been significantly impacted by the conflict.
The appeal for de-escalation and respect for international humanitarian law underscores their commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the crisis and preventing further harm to innocent civilians.
On Monday, more than one million people had fled their homes in Gaza as Israel bombarded the Hamas-ruled territory and continued massing troops in preparation for a full-blown ground invasion.
