According to Israeli military spokesperson John Conricus, approximately half a million Palestinians have evacuated from northern Gaza to the southern region. This comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, as reported by the “Arab World News Agency.”
Conricus stated, “We have managed to neutralize some of the Hamas leaders in recent days,” emphasizing that “Hamas has launched more than six thousand rockets at Israel” since the start of its surprise attack on Israeli cities and towns on October 7th.
Meanwhile, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee has renewed the call for residents of northern Gaza to move to the southern part of the territory. Adraee announced on his “Twitter” account that the Israeli military will refrain from targeting the Salah al-Din main road in Gaza between 8 AM and 12 PM local time to allow residents to travel to the south.
He addressed the residents of northern Gaza, saying, “In consideration of your safety, make use of this time frame to move from the north of the territory and Gaza City to Khan Yunis in the south.”
The mass evacuation of approximately half a million Palestinians from northern Gaza to the southern region is a direct result of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Tensions in the region have escalated, leading to a significant displacement of civilians as a means of seeking safety from the conflict’s violence and airstrikes.
This development highlights the dire humanitarian situation and the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely and calls for a ceasefire and diplomatic efforts to bring stability to the region.
