Ahmed Nashad, legal counsel for Abdullah Al-Senussi, former head of intelligence under Gaddafi’s regime, has affirmed that his client did not attend his mandated court appearance on Monday.

Speaking exclusively to the “Zero” platform, Nashad stated, “A combination of local and international parties are preventing Al-Senussi from appearing in court, delaying the resolution of the case.”

Nashad also highlighted that the court session has now been postponed to July 17th.

Al-Senussi’s failure to appear before the court underscores the significant influence of both local and global actors on the ongoing legal processes related to the Gaddafi era. This development stresses the complexity of Libya’s transitional justice proceedings and the intricate intersection of politics and justice in the region.
