Iran’s President, Ebrahim Raisi announced Iran’s readiness to provide relief to the residents of areas affected by the storm and floods in Libya, including sending medical and pharmaceutical aid.
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU) on Tuesday, Raisi expressed his sympathy with the Libyan government and its people, citing the significant number of deaths, injuries, and missing individuals as a result of the storm and subsequent floods that have ravaged the nation.
“We received the news of the storm and the floods in various regions of Libya, leading to the death, injury, and disappearance of a large number of its citizens, with profound sadness and sorrow,” he stated.
Raisi added, “On behalf of the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I offer condolences to you and your esteemed nation regarding this tragic incident.”
The Iranian leader emphasized that the Islamic Republic’s government is prepared to send relief to affected inhabitants, medical assistance, pharmaceutical supplies, and other essentials.
Raisi expressed hope for a swift return to normalcy in Libya with the efforts of its government and the resilience of its enduring people. He prayed for divine mercy and forgiveness for the victims and a quick recovery for the injured.
It’s worth noting that the storm, named “Daniel,” accompanied by subsequent floods and torrents, has resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands and has caused massive destruction in the affected areas.
