Huawei Opens Cloud Data Center in Saudi Arabia

Huawei Technologies from China has inaugurated a cloud data centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aiming to bolster the digital economy of the nation.

This newly established centre, immediately operational, will offer secure cloud solutions, ensuring the steady functionality of a range of services.

This facility will provide comprehensive cloud offerings, ranging from infrastructure, databases, and containers, to big data and AI services catering to diverse industry needs.

The Riyadh-based cloud centre positions Huawei to expand its product and service outreach across the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa, promising innovative, dependable, secure, and long-lasting cloud solutions.

With its 3AZ architecture, the Huawei Cloud Saudi Region ensures high availability and security for its cloud services, guaranteeing consistent operations for numerous services.

The facility boasts of low latency and encompasses all current carrier networks, backed by stc Group, Zain, and Mobily.

“This achievement underscores Huawei Cloud’s unwavering dedication to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aligned with the nation’s ambitious technological advancement, leadership, and innovation goals,” the tech giant stated.

In adherence to local data norms, the data centre will keep data stored within the region. Huawei plans to roll out 68 cloud services in three distinct sectors: data, artificial intelligence, and cloud-native, in Saudi Arabia.

Haitham bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ohali, vice minister at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, commented on the inauguration.

“Huawei is a proud partner in our country’s technological progress having worked with the ministry, service providers, enterprises and universities in various collective efforts towards digital transformation.”

“We look forward to the transformative impact the Huawei Cloud Riyadh Region will have on our digital ecosystem, creating new avenues for innovation and growth.”
