Tunisia is all set to host the 27th African Reinsurance Forum, which will take place at LAICO Hotel, Tunis, from 30 September to 4 October 2023.
The event is organized by the African Insurance Organization, it was originally set to be held in Libreville during 7-11 October 2023.
This decision to hold the forum in Tunisia comes after local authorities in Gabon opted to cancel the event due to upcoming general elections scheduled in the country on 26 August 2023.
Hassene Feki, President of the Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies (FTUSA) and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), said: “The forum will also provide many opportunities to networking and exchange ideas with insurance industry professionals worldwide.”
“We are convinced that your presence will enrich the discussions and debates and contribute to making this event a resounding success,” Feki added.
In collaboration with the Tunisian Insurance Association and “Réassurance Tunisienne,” the Tunisian reinsurance company, the forum is being organized in the Republic. This partnership has been highlighted by information released on the General Insurance Authority’s official website.
The rescheduled forum is anticipated to provide a platform for discussions on crucial topics in the African insurance industry and foster collaboration among industry leaders across the continent.
The location change presents an opportunity for participants to engage in insightful conversations and exchanges that can contribute to the growth and development of the insurance sector in the region.
The African Insurance Organization, established in 1972 and currently boasting 402 members and 59 member countries, revealed through its online platform that the insurance sector in the African country experienced a growth rate of 7.5% in the first quarter of this year, amounting to 1.075 billion Tunisian Dinars.
This was reported by the General Insurance Authority, a public regulatory body that focuses on the 23 insurance companies operating within the sector.
