The health ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza reported a staggering death toll of at least 9,227 Palestinians, including 3,826 children, resulting from Israeli strikes since the commencement of hostilities on October 7.

The focus of Israel’s campaign to crush Hamas remains on Gaza City, which has borne the brunt of the ongoing conflict initiated by a Hamas attack on Israeli communities.

Israeli troops have intensified their encirclement of Gaza City, marking a strategic move to quell Hamas’s offensive.

The escalation of violence has led to a dire humanitarian situation, with civilians, particularly children, bearing the brunt of the devastating consequences.

Tragically, Israeli shelling has repeatedly targeted cars carrying people attempting to flee from north Gaza along the main roads to southern Gaza.

The perilous conditions on the Gaza Strip’s main road, Salah al-Din, and the coastal highway have rendered rescue and recovery efforts virtually impossible, as medics fear becoming targets themselves.

The report underscores the urgent need for international intervention to address the escalating humanitarian crisis and calls for a cessation of hostilities to prevent further loss of life in the region.

The Libyan Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the detention of a criminal gang, consisting of seven Libyans and two Palestinians, pending an investigation into their involvement in illegal immigration and human trafficking operations. According to a statement from the Attorney General's office, a deputy prosecutor at the General Prosecutor's Office at the Tripoli Court of Appeals is handling the investigation, which was initiated based on evidence provided by an officer from the intelligence agency. This evidence purportedly demonstrates the group's involvement in coordinating the receipt of proceeds from organizing illegal immigration outside the country. The media office added that the investigation revealed the suspects managed the transfer of proceeds to other countries across the Mediterranean through the parallel market, despite knowing that the intermediary was subject to sanctions imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department. The suspects were also aware that these proceeds were part of operations conducted by organizations involved in illegal immigration and human trafficking. Consequently, the investigation has led to the detention of the seven Libyans and two Palestinians for further inquiry.
