The Israeli Defense Forces’ Medical Corps recently disclosed that approximately 9,000 soldiers are receiving psychological treatment as a result of their involvement in the ongoing Gaza conflict, which has now reached its 94th consecutive day.
According to the Medical Corps, a quarter of those treated have not returned to combat in the Gaza Strip. This information was highlighted by Yedioth Ahronoth, a major Israeli newspaper, which also reported that nearly 9,000 Israeli soldiers have sought mental health assistance since the war’s onset. Approximately a quarter of these soldiers have not resumed their combat roles.
The newspaper further elaborated that, in total, around 13,000 regular and reserve soldiers required medical or psychological treatment at some level during the conflict, with thousands injured in battle.
In a related development, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced the thwarting of an attempt by the Israeli Defense Forces to rescue a prisoner in the Al-Bureij camp.
