Dr. Salah Abdel-Ati, head of the International Commission to Support Palestine, stated that Gaza Strip is experiencing widespread destruction and significant displacement due to the ongoing Israeli bombing, adding, “Dozens of martyrs and injured individuals are still trapped under the rubble of demolished buildings in the Gaza Strip.”
In statements to “Cairo News Channel,” he added, “The operation of sewage stations has stopped due to the bombing of Gaza, and 700,000 Palestinians are suffering from epidemics and respiratory diseases.”
The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the Gaza Strip by land, sea, and air since October 7th, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 27,000 Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, and injuring more than 66,000. More than 8,000 are still missing under the rubble and on the streets, as the occupation prevents ambulance crews from reaching them.
The recent situation in Gaza, following the ongoing conflict, has led to devastating humanitarian consequences.Thousands of Palestinians have followed Israeli orders to flee south, particularly from areas like Rafah, which was once considered a “safe zone.” The displacement has been compounded by the Israeli defense minister’s plans to target Rafah, causing widespread disbelief and fear among the displaced populations. UNICEF has reported that about 17,000 children in Gaza are unaccompanied or have been separated from their families during the conflict, highlighting the severe impact on the most vulnerable.
The situation in Khan Younis is particularly dire, with hospitals such as Nasser and Al-Amal running out of food due to the continued siege. The constant Israeli attacks on these medical centers pose a significant risk to thousands of people inside, with the UN relief chief informing the Security Council that aid to Gaza continues to be blocked, further exacerbating the crisis.
