Seven tribal leaders in South Darfur have declared their support for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the ongoing war in the country. The leaders of the Beni Helba, Tarjum, Habaniyah, Falata, Missiriya, Taaisha, and Rezeigat tribes accused the remnants of the old regime of exploiting the army to return to power and engaging in a battle between right and wrong.
In a ]statement, the leaders urged the sons of these tribes in the army to join the RSF, while also calling for continued negotiations and condemning the bombing of innocent civilians by air and artillery.
The RSF welcomed the statement from the executive office of the civil administration and the declaration of full support for their forces. They encouraged other civil administrations to join them and rejected what they described as the hijacking of the army by the remnants of the old regime.
The RSF emphasised the importance of building a unified national army with the support of the honorable members of the armed forces and praised the South Darfur civil administration and tribes for taking the right stand in this conflict.
