Three people were killed and two others injured in recent Russian attacks on the Donetsk region of Ukraine, according to Vadym Lyakh, the head of the regional military administration.
The attacks took place last night, with Russian forces launching 12 artillery strikes on cities and villages in the eastern region over the past 24 hours.
Vadym Lyakh stated that the Russian military executed 12 artillery attacks on various towns within the Donetsk region.
These assaults led to the deaths of three individuals and caused injuries to two others, who are now receiving medical treatment for varying degrees of wounds.
In response to the ongoing threats, local authorities evacuated approximately 438 residents from the frontline areas, including 49 children.
The attacks have severely impacted the region, with notable incidents reported in Bakhmut and Toretsk.
In Bakhmut, two people lost their lives, and four homes were damaged due to the artillery strikes.
Meanwhile, in Toretsk, one person was injured, and significant damage was inflicted on an administrative building and a piece of critical infrastructure.
The Donetsk region, located in eastern Ukraine, has been a focal point of intense conflict since 2014, following Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of war in the Donbas area.
The region is partially controlled by Russian-backed separatists, leading to ongoing military engagements between Ukrainian forces and separatist militias supported by Russia.
