On Saturday, at least five civilians were injured as Russia launched missiles at the city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine.

The head of the regional military administration in Kharkiv stated that Russian forces used S-300 surface-to-air missiles in the attack, according to Oleh Syniehubov, as reported by CNN.

The missiles struck the urban area of Kholodnohirsky in Kharkiv, which is the second-largest city in Ukraine.

Syniehubov stated in a Telegram post that, according to preliminary information, none of the civilians were injured in a life-threatening manner.

The city of Kharkiv, located in northeastern Ukraine, has been a focal point in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

As one of Ukraine‘s largest cities, Kharkiv has faced numerous shelling and attacks from Russian forces since the conflict’s outbreak in 2014.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine began when Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, following Ukraine’s Euromaidan protests and the ousting of President Yanukovych.
