The strike by workers at Spanish airline Iberia has disrupted air traffic in the country, with 400 flights cancelled and more than 45,000 passengers affected.

The strike, which began on Friday and is due to last four days, is over fears that the company will lay off workers after losing a contract to handle baggage at Spanish airports.

The airline has said that all jobs and pay and benefits are guaranteed under the collective agreement that governs the sector.

The strike is the latest in a series of labor actions at Iberia, which has been struggling financially in recent years.

In 2022, flight attendants at the airline went on strike for 10 days to protest against pay cuts.
