The GCC-Iraq Electrical Interconnection Project is 30 percent completed, announced CEO of the Gulf Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) Ahmed al-Ebrahim, indicated that the project is taking place according to the specific timetable ending by 2024.

During a ceremony organized by the authority to celebrate Global Quality Week at its headquarters in Dammam on Sunday, Al-Ibrahim mentioned that the highest quality standards are being upheld in the project, choosing top-tier companies to execute it by applying rigorous quality benchmarks.

Al-Ibrahim explained that a complete quality monitoring program for the Gulf-Iraq electrical interconnection project is being overseen by a dedicated project team.

The authority is keen to connect with external systems to benefit from the surplus energy during the winter, exporting it to systems in need, targeting countries such as Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt in the near future. This cooperation involves the Saudi Electricity Company and other Gulf networks, while also seeing winter as an optimal period for routine maintenance to preserve system performance and quality.

Al-Ibrahim views Global Quality Day as an opportunity to foster a culture of quality worldwide, encouraging individuals and institutions to adopt quality concepts for the benefit of people, communities, and the globe at large. Quality Day becomes an occasion for quality enthusiasts and experts to celebrate achievements and promote awareness for employing quality methodologies and tools to make tangible changes in performance enhancement and business outcomes.

Global Quality Week 2023 represents a chance to highlight individuals, teams, and organizations investing in creating and improving value for customers.

He underscored that establishments focusing on customers and enhancing a culture that adds value through innovation, product enhancement, and process improvements are the ones that understand quality is defined by the customer.

Involving customers in quality improvements, listening to their feedback, measuring their satisfaction, and collaborating for continuous enhancement and problem-solving are fundamental. He added that the global economy’s success hinges on quality, innovation, and sustainability, making Global Quality Day an ideal platform to reinforce these pillars in organizations.
