Two pilots tragically lost their lives in the crash of a training helicopter belonging to the Philippine Navy on Thursday.

The helicopter crash occurred in a grassy area near a public market south of the capital Manila, according to statements from the army and police.

The American news network ABC News reported on Thursday that authorities have not announced any injuries on the ground resulting from the crash.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.

The Philippine Navy, as part of its ongoing training and operational activities, regularly conducts helicopter training exercises to enhance the skills of its pilots and crew members.

Helicopter accidents, while relatively rare, can occur due to various factors such as mechanical failures, adverse weather conditions, or pilot error.

Investigations into such incidents are crucial for determining the cause and implementing preventive measures to ensure the safety of military personnel and civilians.

As the authorities continue their investigation into the tragic incident, condolences pour in for the families of the deceased pilots, highlighting the risks and sacrifices often associated with military service.
