Linda Yacurino, the CEO of Company X, took to the stage for an interview with CNBC’s Julia Borstein at the recent Code 2023 event by Vox Media. During the 45-minute interview, previously undisclosed statistics about the company were shared.

Throughout the conversation, Yacurino reiterated that she had been in her position at X for just 12 weeks. She revealed that the platform, formerly known as Twitter, has seen a decline in daily active users since Elon Musk assumed his role as leader. During the tech conference, Yacurino stated that the company currently has 225 million daily active users, marking a decrease of tens of millions, equivalent to 11.6% of users, compared to the period before Musk’s takeover.

Last year, Elon Musk had tweeted statistics showing that Twitter had 254.5 million daily active users in the week prior to his acquisition.

According to available information, X adjusted the number of daily active users to 245 million, with Yacurino mentioning earlier in the interview that there were “200 to 250 million” daily active users.

Mashable reports that, based on the shared statistics, X has lost millions, or approximately 3.7%, of its daily active users before Musk’s acquisition. The report claims that the number of daily active users has dropped even below the figures shared by Musk last year when he was in charge.

Twitter had 259.4 million daily active users in mid-November 2022, and X has lost nearly 15 million users, a decrease of approximately 5.6%. When asked about user metrics, Yacurino attempted to steer away from the topic, stating that X has around 200 to 250 million daily active users. She also mentioned that the platform has 50,000 communities, and engagement numbers have increased since June.

She went on to say that X has 550 million monthly active users. The monthly growth rate of daily active users under Musk’s leadership is unclear. She also claimed that X would be profitable in 2024 and asserted that “90% of the top 100 advertisers have returned to the platform in just the last 12 weeks.”

The transformation of Twitter into “Platform X” and its leadership shift to Elon Musk has been a significant development in the world of social media. Musk’s influence and strategy have brought both excitement and skepticism to the platform.

This article sheds light on the changing user dynamics on Platform X, particularly the decline in daily active users since Musk took over. Such shifts in user engagement can have substantial implications for the platform’s future direction and its ability to attract advertisers.

Elon Musk’s involvement with Platform X has sparked discussions about how the platform might evolve, including potential changes to its features, content policies, and revenue generation strategies. The claim that the platform will be profitable in 2024 and the return of top advertisers also raise questions about its financial prospects.

The article highlights the challenges and opportunities facing Platform X under its new leadership, making it a significant development in the ever-evolving social media landscape
